Flame Robin
Flame Robin
Flame Robin
I Painted this artwork while travelling on the East Coast of Tasmania. Koa, Sepp & I were on our last ‘family of 3 holiday’ - a week long trip to Friendly Beaches, filled with warm beach days, bird watching, ocean swims & exploring.
This was time in my life where I dove deep into what setting healthy boundaries meant to me, and what changes needed to be made in order to set them. It was a time where I truly found my strength as an artist - an artist trying to make a living for my growing family, through creating and sharing my art.
I was set to do my first solo exhibition at a beautiful local woman’s gallery in March 2021. Throughout my pregnancy I spent many hours painting and creating with so much passion and excitement. The week of the exhibition opening, things took an unfortunate turn and the exhibition did not go ahead; It was necessary and the best for all involved, but it was also sad for us all! Amongst the tears, the most invigorating & empowering feelings were felt. This artwork is a representation of the balance which is ever present in every experience - the joy & sadness, the empowerment & disappointment - a symbol of the Yin & Yang of life.
The week of the ‘meant to be exhibition’ I saw my first Flame Robin on our property, and a few days later, he flew inside to say hello. (Yes - I did almost cry from happiness!!!)
Since then, the original Flame Robin painting has sat with pride in our home; bringing feelings of strength, reminding me to set healthy boundaries & welcoming many more Flame Robins to our garden.
The Original painting was created with Watercolour on paper by Paula Formosa, 2021.
